110 Pit Bike

Pit bike racing is still a relatively new motorcycle sport that’s catching on in many countries. Dirt bike racing or motocross racing has been around for some time now. However, only young adults can participate in these races as the riders need to be of a certain build and age to handle high speed performance dirt bikes on rough terrain.

Pit bike racing brings in a certain amount of dirt bike racing into it and gives an opportunity for younger kids to participate. Pit bikes are small off-road motorcycles typically used in pits, on streets or in staging areas for competitions. Nowadays, older teens and young adults also participate in pit racing.

Pit racing is categorized by bike capacity. Smaller bikes with lower capacity such as 50-100cc fall into the kids’ category. Larger pit bikes with capacity of 110cc, 125cc, 150cc, 200cc, 250cc and above fall into different race categories. The races involve riding laps over complex surfaces such as ramps, hills and drops.

A kid of 10 or 12 of reasonable build should be able to handle an 110cc pit bike quite easily. This range of bike allows the rider more maneuverability, which is what any pit rider wants. A 125cc pit bike is considered the ideal pit bike, with enough power and torque to enter some serious competition while being light enough to handle leaps, jumps and tight turns on the ramp.

Braaap has a range of 11cc pit bikes and 125cc speed pit bikes that are the toast of Australia’s mini motocross competitions. Check them out when you decide to buy an 110cc pit bike.
